Yes — your child’s first class is completely free, with no credit card required and no commitment. It’s a real 60-minute class in a small group, so you can see exactly how Merit works before deciding anything.
It depends on how much support your child needs. Our small group classes (max 5 students) give your child live tutor guidance with interactive learning during class, plus homework challenges after. When we get in touch, we’ll recommend what suits your child best based on what you’ve shared.
English and Maths for Years 1–10. All content is aligned to the Australian Curriculum. When you book, you’ll choose your child’s year level and subject — they’ll be placed in a class group matched to where they are in the curriculum.
Every class is a live 60-minute session with an expert tutor in a small group of no more than 5 students, plus self-paced practice on Merit’s learning platform — where points and levels track real progress and keep your child motivated between classes — and a parent progress dashboard. All content is aligned to the Australian Curriculum for Years 1–10.
Any iPad, Android tablet, or laptop will work. The platform is touch-optimised for tablets and fully functional on desktop browsers — no app download required. Device must have camera & microphone (inbuilt or external) for the live classes.
You can track your child’s progress directly on our learning platform — see how they’re going, what they’re improving on, and what to practise more.
You pay a simple per-class rate — $35 per class for Years 1–6 and $39 per class for Years 7–10 — billed fortnightly. Your child can take more than one class a week if you’d like (for example, both English and Maths), so the fortnightly total depends on how many classes they attend. No sign-up fees, no lock-in contracts, and you can stop whenever you like.
None. There’s no lock-in and no minimum term — you can pause or cancel at any time. Just let us know and we’ll take care of it. Families stay because it’s working, not because they’re tied in.
